Ontario Police Moms

We want more people to appreciate the tough job our kids do!

We’re the moms of civilian and uniformed members of police associations across Ontario.

As mothers of the police, we know our children do a good job keeping our communities safe. As proud moms, we want everyone to know that.

So what can you do?

Show a sign of support by liking our Facebook page (Facebook.com/ontariopolicemoms).

Share our stories with friends and families.

If you’re a police mom yourself, we want your story. Update your Facebook profile picture with our special Police Moms frame. (See “How to Share” for easy-to-follow instructions.)

Let’s spread the word. Show them we care. The police need our support.

We asked moms of police officers what it’s like to be a police mom.

Here’s what they said.

“Police Moms Part 1: The Hardest Part of the Job.”

“Police Moms Part 2: Gerda’s Story”

“Police Moms Part 3: The Best Part of the Job”

Police Moms on CBC Radio – Interview with Dr. Janice Owen

“Police Moms Part 4: What Makes Them Who They Are”

“Police Moms Part 5: Mother’s Pride”

We want your story

Our sons and daughters do courageous work. They keep us safe. They make us proud. But from day to day, many of them don’t know what the shift will bring, what danger lurks ahead.

As mothers, we know the value of their job. Whether it’s walking a beat, answering calls, working in the forensics labs, doing detective work, investigating cyber crime, being the first responders, controlling traffic, community involvement, operating the services…the police are an intrinsic part of our communities.

We need to get our stories out. Because they are their stories. And they need our support.

All we’re asking is that you post on Facebook a story about your son or daughter. For details about how to do this, click here.

How to share

If you have a story to tell, we want to hear it. And if you’re ready, we want you to share it on Facebook and Twitter.

It’s easy to do. Just make a post about a special memory and use the hashtag #MoreThanABadge.

If you’re not sure how to do that, click on the link below. We’ve provided an easy-to-follow guide on how to use Facebook and Twitter.
